The working principle of a viscous damping wall is to move a steel plate in a closed high viscosity damping fluid, causing the damping fluid to undergo shear deformation, thereby consuming vibration energy. Specifically:
1. When an earthquake or other external vibration force acts on a building, the building structure will vibrate, causing relative velocity between the inner and outer steel plates of the viscous damping wall.
2. The steel plate moves in a closed high viscosity damping fluid, causing the damping fluid to experience shear deformation. This shear deformation leads to internal friction within the damping fluid, which converts vibration energy into thermal energy and consumes it.
